I started with the clue Cardinals, thinking it might be related to sports teams or the Catholic Church. But as I moved on to Stoplights, I realized it was probably something more visual. My brain went to the idea of warning signs or signals.

However, when I saw Blood, I was stumped. I thought it was going to be a medical or scientific connection. But then Raspberries came along, and I started to think about food or fruit.
